RVSM

RVSM
Aircraft operators that wish to conduct operations in RVSM airspace must have their aircraft equipped with air data system components that meet the RVSM accuracy requirements outlined in the FAA regulations. On earlier model aircraft such as the Boeing 727-100/200, the Boeing 737-200 and the Mcdonnell Douglas DC-8 the existing air data and altitude alert systems must be upgraded to comply with the new RVSM requirements. ASM offers STC data packages and FAA PMA installation kits using the Innovative Solutions and Support (IS&S) digital air data system for the DC-8, B727 and B737 aircraft. ASM also offers an STC data package and FAA PMA kit using the Honeywell digital air data system on the B737 aircraft.
RVSM approval is a two-part process. First, the aircraft must be equipped with RVSM compliant equipment. Secondly, the operator must submit an
RVSM operational approval application to their local regulation authority. ASM offers an RVSM operational approval data package for the B727 and
B737 aircraft that when customized for the specific operator, can be submitted to their local authority within days after receiving the data
package from ASM. The RVSM operational approval data package includes: an operational program, an operational training program, a maintenance
program, a maintenance training program, a sample revision to the MEL and various necessary correspondence letters and memos to individual airline
(organization) departments and the FAA.
