Using Innovative Solutions and Support (IS&S) Equipment
This kit provides two (2) independent RVSM-compliant systems, one for the Captain and another for the First Officer. Both systems consist of a new Altimeter and a new Airspeed Indicator. Each system provides a cross-check with the other and with the new Digital Air Data Computer (DADC). The result is a triple air data system, interfacing with the aircraft’s autopilot, flight director, ATC transponder, and pitot/static and FMS systems.
The existing Captain’s and First Officer’s altimeters and airspeed indicators are removed and replaced with RVSM-compliant Altimeters and Airspeed Indicators. The existing altitude alerter is removed from the flight deck, and a new Altitude Alerter is installed. Finally, the existing air data computer is removed from the radio rack, and a new DADC is installed.
